Ngunawal Country

Original acrylic artwork on premium, double thick stretched canvas, ready to hang!

Size: 60cm x 120cm

Artist: Jazz Matthews

This piece honours the strength, connection and knowledge on Ngunawal Country. The tree stands for strength. Beneath it are myself, Kristal, our late great Nan- Dorothy Carroll and cousin Tyronne Bell with his hunting boomerang- a symbol of care and protection.

The sun represents empowerment, while the blue waterholes and flowing rivers reflect life, stories and movement through Country. Kangaroo tracks show our journey forward.

Each section shares parts of Country- bush tucker, animals, yarning spaces and more. I’m grateful to walk this path, to connect with my beautiful Mob around me and to call Country home.

Culture is our strength.
